Leona Genshaft Food and Culture Studio
Get ready to explore the connection between who we are and how we feed ourselves in one of the building鈥檚 more stunning features, the Leona Genshaft food and culture studio. This is where Honors students explore global issues while learning about diverse cultures through food, food preparation, and cooking. Featuring a professional kitchen, flexible seating, and monitors for easy viewing, this beautiful space will be used for many different types of events, including orientation sessions for study abroad and international service projects.
Cornelia Corbett Art and Design Studio
A collaboration and teaching space where student artists and designers can share ideas, brainstorm, and receive feedback from our expert faculty. The art and design studio is custom designed to facilitate creative projects ranging from painting and sculpture to graphic design and more.
Studio Spaces
The fifth floor is also home to studio spaces dedicated to music, technology, and audio/video production. These studios serve as special interactive classrooms designed specifically for each activity. The music studio is acoustically engineered and equipped to accommodate both classes and groups like the Honors Choir. The technology studio is a maker space where students can use tools like 3D printing to explore the intersections of engineering, art, design, and science. And in the multimedia studio, students can use professional tools and equipment to gain practical experience creating videos, podcasts, and more.
Linda and Randy Simmons Classroom
Students will love learning in the fifth floor Linda and Randy Simmons classroom. This classroom features built-in smart technology to make learning more accessible and is equipped with movable furniture, allowing professors to customize the learning environment to suit class needs.
Dean鈥檚 Suite and Conference Room
The fifth-floor dean鈥檚 suite provides dedicated office space for Honors College staff and student employees as they work to support the mission of the college. The suite features offices, a reception area, collaboration spaces and meeting rooms, including the dean鈥檚 conference room for presentations, planning and other college meetings.
Charles and Rhonda Adams Family Commons
The fifth-floor student Commons provides the Honors community with a central place to gather outside of the busy classroom and studio spaces. Designed as a meeting space, the Commons provides a stunning view of the interior of the college, learning lofts, and activity of the food and culture studio.
Learning Lofts
Suspended around the fifth floor of the building鈥檚 atrium, the Robert and Nancy Watkins, Richard A. Beard Family, Debbie and Brent Sembler, Michael and Lisa Kelly, the Stroman Family, Charlie and Victoria Tokarz, the Hal Mullis Family, Mike and Melanie Griffin, Mike L. Carrere, and Brian and Paulette Lamb learning lofts accommodate two to eight people each and allow students, faculty, and staff to meet in small groups while enjoying spectacular views of the college. Each loft is configured with its own seating and furniture to facilitate both planned and impromptu meetings and collaborations.
