Strategic Procurement

Strategic Procurement is a continuous process of analyzing the University鈥檚 spend, identifying ideal supplier partnerships, managing supplier relationships, adding value into each phase of the procurement process, and developing new strategies to save USF money and time.

Tactical Purchasing describes the day-to-day operational aspects of traditional procurement and ensures the policies and regulations surrounding the requisition and payment process are followed.

Working together, Strategic Procurement and Tactical Purchasing leverage the University's purchasing volume and overall spend to establish contracts as a university; negotiate further discounts; enhance levels of customer service; increase supplier diversity; save departmental resources; and attract new suppliers.
