Undergraduate Admission Process

The School of Art & Art History does not require a portfolio for undergraduate admission, except for the Graphic Arts Program (see below). During the university application process, undergraduate students interested in a degree in Studio Art or Art History only need to select their interested degree of choice on the online application form to be considered an applicant to the School of Art & Art History.
Students can pursue the following undergraduate art degrees at USF:
- Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art
- Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Arts — A portfolio is required for admission to the Graphic Arts Program. View the admission requirements and application form.

- Bachelor of Arts in Art History
Freshmen (First-Year Undergraduates)
Apply early! See the for requirements, deadlines, and information on how to apply. To be considered for financial aid, you must apply by the preferred admissions deadline or priority deadline. There is also an application completion deadline for students to qualify for admissions scholarships.

Step 1: REVIEW ADMISSIONS INFORMATION

Students wishing to transfer to ÉîÒ¹¿´Æ¬ should complete an Associate of Arts degree (AA) at a Florida College System institution. Some courses required for the major may also meet General Education requirements thereby transferring maximum hours to the university.
If a student wishes to transfer without an AA degree and has fewer than 60 semester hours of acceptable credit, the student must meet the university’s entering freshman requirements including ACT or SAT test scores, GPA, and course requirements.
Transfer students are also required to comply with the immunization, foreign language, and continuous enrollment policies of the university.
Step 2: Review Course Prerequisites
Students should complete the prerequisite courses at the lower level prior to entering the university. If these courses are not taken at a Florida College System institution, they must be completed before the degree is granted.
Unless stated otherwise, a grade of C is the minimum acceptable grade in prerequisite courses.
