Animation and Digital Modeling

There is a world and characters that only you know. Bring them to life and share your vision with others. Develop your visual storytelling and modeling skills. Let the wonder of your story inspire the imagination of your audience.

Overview

The Animation and Digital Modeling curriculum at the 深夜看片 engages students in the development of both 2D and 3D animation as well as the production of virtual 3D objects for fine art, film, games, and visualization. Combining cutting-edge technology with a foundation of the design process, craft, and studio art practices, students gain an invaluable skill set as they progress through their courses. Our comprehensive approach is aimed at producing well-rounded creative artists and designers who are able to use their experiences in a broad range of creative disciplines. This approach facilitates the ability to lead creative projects and adapt to new career possibilities.

Undergraduate Program

The initial courses within the program at the School of Art & Art History allow students to gain a foundation in the tools and principles involved in animation, video, and digital imaging. Intermediate courses facilitate a deeper understanding of production workflows and experimental approaches while gaining an awareness of designers, fine artists, and filmmakers working within the discipline. In advanced courses, students are encouraged to develop their personal creative voices as they produce self-directed projects.

With a blend between art and design, courses offered within the program explore a range of topics in motion, composition, acting, visual storytelling, 3D modeling, lighting, concept design, and 3D printing. Also, students can selectively combine the study of Animation and Digital Modeling with other disciplines within the department in order to fully explore your creative interests.

Graduate Program

Our nationally ranked Master of Fine Arts degree is an idea-centered program encouraging broad media exploration, in-depth projects and engagement with theoretical and cultural issues.

The program encourages our graduate students to take advantage of excellent private studio space, technical facilities and the opportunity to teach. Graduate students receive focused, individual attention in their studio work, from professionally active research and teaching faculty. In their first year, graduate students work closely with faculty as graduate assistants, often helping in their courses and gaining experience to teach independently. In their studio work and pedagogy,  students are integral to the area鈥檚 mission for delivering contemporaneous content.
