Enhancing the employee experience at USF

Dear USF community,

Our people are at the heart of everything we do at the ÉîÒ¹¿´Æ¬. We are proud to have earned national recognition as a great place to work, but we know there is more we can do to elevate our employees’ experiences.

In alignment with the ÉîÒ¹¿´Æ¬ Strategic Plan, we continue to prioritize ensuring our faculty and staff possess the tools they need to maximize success, as well as modernizing our workforce and providing better systems of support.

With this in mind, we are pleased to announce a new entity within Central Human Resources, the Employee Experience Team (EET), led by Alexis Mootoo, PhD, who will serve in a newly created role of Associate Vice President for Employee Experience. The EET encompasses three areas: Culture, Employee Relations and Equal Opportunity Compliance, which will work together to support an environment in which every employee feels valued, connected and inspired. Additionally, the EET will streamline reporting with easy access through one team, as needed, to coordinate a holistic response to ÉîÒ¹¿´Æ¬ employee reports.

Dr. Mootoo joined USF in 2005 with over 15 years of previous experience in resource management and human resources. At USF, she has been responsible for managing large financial and organizational portfolios and employing organizational behavior theories to maximize administrative resources and talent. In addition to a doctorate in government, she earned an MBA focusing on organizational behavior and leadership.

Through the EET, we see an opportunity to improve the journeys for our employees by developing a more holistic, streamlined approach for addressing employment-related issues. This approach will revamp our intake process, provide better communication and take steps to resolve matters more efficiently.

The EET will continue to partner with other units at the university, including but not limited to the President’s Office, Office of General Counsel and the Office of Compliance & Ethics.

Please join us in welcoming Alexis to this important position. We look forward to providing additional updates as the EET begins to take shape under Alexis’s leadership.

Sincerely,

Rhea F. Law
President
