BIOGRAPHY:
Colonel Eric Hartunian is originally from Mission Viejo, California, and was a Field Artillery officer before becoming an Army Strategist in 2007. He has served in many positions from platoon to the theater army-level, with deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan. Colonel Hartunian was the Chief Strategist at the National Counterterrorism Center’s Directorate of Strategic and Operational Planning, where he focused on counterterrorism policy to include the global foreign fighter crisis, and other counter-ISIS challenges.

He is currently the Director of the Basic Strategic Art Program, where he leads a faculty team to educate and develop the Army’s newest Strategists. He holds a Doctorate in Public Administration from the University of Kansas, a master’s degree in Defense Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School, and is a fellow with the U.S. Army’s Advanced Strategic Planning and Policy Program.
